In the class PED 3142, myself and a colleague and I created a brochure on a specific exceptionality that exists and could have to be dealt with in classrooms. This component of the course was most interesting and realistic. The expert panels including presentations and interactions with other colleagues were very insightful and informative. I felt a lot more confident when thinking about dealing with students with special needs. It has been in my plans to take an AQ for special education and I have some background with communication disorders, therefore this topic was highly favourable. My topic was on speech impairments and the image below is a brochure that consists of information about what types of speech impairments exist and different methods in which teachers might use within classrooms. It is important to be aware of ways to accommodate these students and making learning as easy and fun as possible without the worry of additional anxiety.
